Susan has nearly 40 years of experience working on domestic and international bank supervisory issues, first at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and then as a consultant at Promontory Financial Group.
Susan served as managing director Promontory Financial Group, where she advised banks on enterprise risk management, corporate governance, and compliance with regulatory directives. She also worked with nonbank financial institutions on the changing regulatory environment.
Before joining Promontory, Susan worked for 20 years at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, where she served as senior deputy comptroller for international affairs, senior deputy comptroller for bank supervision policy, and deputy comptroller for economic analysis and strategic planning. She also represented the OCC on the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision during the development of the Basel I and Basel II risk-based capital requirements.
Susan is a board member and treasurer of New Futures, a nonprofit organization that offers tuition assistance, advising, and career training for underserved young adults in the DMV. Susan holds a Ph.D. in economics from University of Southern California, and a B.A. in mathematics from University of California at Los Angeles.
